Why?
Even in the digital revolution nothing can stop the power of black and white. Nothing better represents the complete dichotomy, the binary separation, the yin and yang contrast that black and white offers.
A Brief History
- Feb. 2009 Founded
- 3 Initial Employees
- $2000 Initial Monthly Budget
- 320% First Year Net Growth
B&W Web Design was founded less than two years ago by a small group of visionaries living on the campus of NC State University. Ellen Gebrselassie, Ron Gore, and Tim O'Brien were students at the time, finishing their various degrees. The company initially focused on the niche market of black and white web design, later returning to their photography roots by creating the largest independent photojournalism organization in history, quickly surpassing the AP.
Although pictures in black and white hold a place near and dear to our heart, we are published in color about 82% of the time. Pictures taken by our elite group of photojournalists appear in newsprint, magazines, and especially on the internet.
B&W Today
Today B&W employes 183 full time photographers on six continents. It is a publicly traded company, and has seen steady growth since it sold it's first share over a year ago. B&W is based in D-Town Durham North Carolina.
